Mottramite with Calcite - Sold

Mottramite is a copper lead vanadate. Roscoe (1876) named this mineral after Mottram St. Andrew, Cheshire, England. This specimen consists of a single discoidal crystal of calcite, enclosing and overgrown with dendritic mottramite. The calcite crystal is complete with only microscopic chipping on its acute edges. Formerly in the Oscar W. Rodde collection, whose label accompanies the specimen. Nice!
