Biehlite - Sold

Schlüter et al. (2000) named biehlite after Friedrich Karl Biehl (1887-?), an early researcher on Tsumeb minerals. An abstract of the paper appears here. The mineral has unusual chemistry (Sb,As)2MoO6, and is one of very few antimony minerals from Tsumeb. Although noted as early as 1989, the fine fibrous nature of the mineral confounded its proper characterization. The mineral occurs in rare pockets of anglesite and wulfenite in the third oxidation zone of the Tsumeb Corporation mine. Very rare. This is a compact matted mass of fibers.
