Kapustinite - Sold

Kapustinite is a sodium zirconium silicate (Pekov et al. 2003) and a member of the lovozerite group (Pekov et al. 2009). The mineral name honors Yuriy Leonidovich Kapustin (1933-2002), Russian mineralogist and petrologist, a specialist in alkaline igneous complexes (Pekov, 2007). This specimen consists mostly of crystalline kapustinite, with an apparent alteration product. Kapustinite here has a deep somewhat brownish red color and shows some parting.
