Asbecasite received its name from the chemical symbols As for arsenic, Be for beryllium, Ca for calcium and Si for silicon (Graeser, 1966). Asbecasite has hexagonal symmetry. This is a loose crystal, a tabular crystal with rhombohedral modifications. The crystal is approximately 40% complete. This specimen ships in a gem jar. This specimen was collected in 2011 by Toni Imhof, of Binntal, Switzerland.
