Vésigniéite is a copper barium vanadate. The mineral name honors Colonel Jean Paul Louis Vésignié (1870-1954), major French mineral collector.
Vésigniéite here forms scaly aggregates on a volcanic matrix. The bronzy green color contrasts strongly with the matrix, and gives a visual impact of the richness of the specimen. Good piece.
