Ojuelaite with Scorodite - Sold

Ojuelaite is a hydrous zinc iron arsenate named after this locality (Cesbron et al. 1981). Scorodite is a hydrous iron arsenate, named after Greek word for garlic, which odor it gives upon heating (Breithaupt, 1818).

Ojuelaite here forms fibrous bundles to 5 mm, overgrown with 1-2 mm green-blue scorodite crystals. There is minor crystalline yellow legrandite present. This material came out alongside the fabulous legrandite specimens in 1977. From the collection of southern California collector and dealer Mac Blair.
