Denningite is a calcium manganese tellurate mineral originally described by Mandarino et al. (1963). The original occurrence appears in the description as "the Moctezuma mine", but now this locality carries the designation "Bambolla mine", in the municipio (county) of and near the town of, and also along the river of Moctezuma. Denningite here forms green bladed crystals, some cleaved, to 12 mm. Also present are incomplete prisms of yellow tellurite to 3 mm. In the original description, the authors could only locate partial crystals. These crystals are complete enough to show their tetragonal symmetry.
