Bellingerite is a copper iodate mineral, the third iodate discovered after salesite and lautarite. The mineral name honors Herman C. Bellinger (1867-1940), General Manager of the Chile Exploration Company, who provided the first specimens to Harvard University for study (Berman & Wolfe, 1940). Bellingerite here forms sea foam green crystals to 2 mm, in clusters and patches on brecciated matrix. Good example.
