Hodgkinsonite is a magnesium manganese silicate mineral. Palache & Schaller (1913) named the mineral after Harold H. Hodgkinson (1886-1947), Assistant Underground Superintendent of the Franklin mine, who discovered the mineral. This specimen features two crystalline aggregates of hodgkinsonite, the gemmier one 6 mm across, and another 13 mm across.
