Scainiite is a lead antimony oxide sulfide mineral. Orlandi et al. (1999) named the species after Giuseppe Scaini (1906-1988), systematic collector of Italian minerals. Scainiite forms a 5 mm patch of acicular crystals. There is a red arrow on the specimen to point out the metallic patch of scainite on this impure limestone matrix. Rare!
