Nickenichite is a rare sodium copper magnesium arsenate mineral found in the Eifel volcanic field, also a member of the alluaudite group. Auernhammer et al. (1993) named the mineral after the nearby village of Nickenich, near the type locality. The minerals forms a radiating spray of blue blades with green mottramite. Rare!

This item was part of the personal collection of Ralph Merrill, proprietor of the prolific mail order business Minerals Unlimited. Merrill's collection card and label also ship with the specimen.
