Marokite - Sold


Marokite is a calcium manganese oxide. Gaudefroy & Jouravsky (1963) named the mineral for Maroc, French for Morocco. Marokite here forms a crystalline mass, consisting of coarse lustrous black grains.

This item was part of the personal collection of Ralph Merrill, proprietor of the prolific mail order business Minerals Unlimited. Merrill obtained this specimen in 1976 from the Geological Survey of Morocco (label included). Merrill's collection card and label also ship with the specimen.
