Todorokite is a manganese oxide mineral, originally named after this locality (Yoshimura, 1934). While know for decades, the crystal structure of todorokite remained unsolved until Post & Bish (1988) solved it from the mineral powder. This is a feathery mass of the mineral from the type locality.
