Mendozavilite-NaCu - Sold

Mendozazilite-NaCu is a newly described species first found elsewhere in Chile. The specie is a member of a complex group of heteromolybdate coordination complexes (Kampf et al. 2012). This specimen consists of an altered matrix with a fracture surface hosting radiating lime green microcrystals.

This specimen was part of the personal collection of Ralph Merrill, proprietor of the prolific mail order business Minerals Unlimited. While originally labeled cuprocopiapite by Merrill, Raman spectroscopy and SEM-EDS analysis indicate that this mineral is in fact mendozavilite-NaCu. The analyses ship with the specimen. Merrill's collection card and label also ship with the specimen.
