Petersite-(Y) - Sold

Petersite-(Y) is a hydrated copper yttrium phosphate mineral, and a member of the mixite group. Peacor & Dunn (1982) named the mineral in honor of the Peters brothers, Joseph and Thomas. Joseph Peters worked at the American Museum of Natural History while Thomas Peters worked at the Paterson Museum (New Jersey). Petersite-(Y) here forms isolated green hexagonal crystals on opal matrix. This is a mounted micromineral in a 1" plastic micromount box. This is an excellent specimen of this species.
