Nikischerite - Sold

Nikischerite is a hydrated sodium iron aluminum sulfate. The mineral is the iron analog of shigaite, and a member of the hydrotalcite group. Mineral collector and dealer Tony Nikischer discovered this species using qualitative chemistry on an unknown associated with ludlamite form Bolivia. Huminicki et al. (2003) named the mineral after Mr. Nikischer, for his contributions to specimen mineralogy. This specimen consists of two intergrown spheres of platy green crystals. On the surface, this mineral has altered to a brown color. This specimen, though small, is much larger than average for the species!
