Jerrygibbsite is a manganese silicate mineral of the humite group. Dunn et al. (1984) named the mineral in honor of G.V. Gibbs, mineralogist at Virginia Tech. Jerrygibbsite forms purple grains in mostly franklinite matrix. Rare!
