Kraisslite - Sold

Kraisslite is a rare manganese magnesium iron zinc arsenite arsenate silicate mineral (Moore and Ito, 1978). The name honors collectors Alice (1905-1986) and Frederick Kraissl (1899-1986), major supporters of the Franklin Mineral Museum and the Franklin-Ogdensburg Mineral Society. This is a solid mass of foliated kraisslite. Rare and type locality material!

This specimen was part of the personal collection of Ralph Merrill, proprietor of the prolific mail order business Minerals Unlimited. Mr. Merrill obtained the specimen from David H. Garske, whose label is also present. Merrill's collection card and label also ship with the specimen.
