Welshite - Sold

Welshite is a complex antimony calcium beryllium silicate, belonging to the aenigmatite group (Moore, 1978). The name honors Mr. Wilfred R. Welsh, amateur mineralogist. Welshite here forms a 0.5 mm stubby crystal grain in dolomite with roméite, hausmannite and richterite.

This specimen was part of the personal collection of Ralph Merrill, proprietor of the prolific mail order business Minerals Unlimited. He obtained the piece in 1986 from W.D. Christianson. Merrill's collection card and label also ship with the specimen.
