Nadorite - Sold

Flajolot (1870) named nadorite after its original occurrence at Djebel Nador. Nadorite is a lead antimony oxychloride. Nadorite is transparent brown at this locality. On exposure to meteoric waters, the mineral alters to yellow powdery bindheimite. This specimen features 1.3 cm spheroids of bladed nadorite, partly altered to bright yellow bindheimite. There is some rubbing to the crystal edges, typical for older specimens of this mineral. This is a rich, large example of the mineral. This specimen was part of the personal collection of Ralph Merrill, proprietor of the prolific mail order business Minerals Unlimited, obtained from Willard Perkins in 1952.
