Meta-autunite - Sold

Meta-autunite is a calcium uranium phosphate mineral named after its type locality in France. This specimen is an aggregate of huge sheaves of platy yellow-green crystals. The crystal size is difficult to measure considereing the tightness of the aggregate, but likely exceeds 2 cm. An excellent autunite specimen! This specimen appears to have been stabilized; most of these specimens dehydrate and collapse with time. This specimen is now 55 years out of the Earth, and should be stable for years to come. This specimen was part of the personal collection of Ralph Merrill, proprietor of the prolific mail order business Minerals Unlimited.
