Aikinite, Gold - Sold

Aikinite is a copper lead bismuth sulfide. The mineral was originally found near Yekaterinburg in the early nineteenth century (Chapman, 1843). Aikinite here forms steely crystals embedded in massive white quartz with some accessory wire gold. A rich gold specimen; quite difficult to obtain these days. This specimen comes from Ralph Merrill collection, proprietor of Minerals Unlimited. Purchase includes Merrill's catalog card (and label).
