Atacamite - Sold

Atacamite is a copper chloride mineral named for the Atacama desert probably by Hauy around 1800. The mineral occurs in many copper deposits, but often in small amounts and small crystals. This occurrence in Australia produced the world's longest thick crystals. This is a rare example, with crystals to 1.6 radiating from a central mass. This specimen likely formed in a narrow vein, otherwise it would be a complete radiating spherule of crystals. This has much potential for trimming into a competition level thumbnail, but that is a choice left to the buyer.
